Dependent Life Insurance

Your username is included in the Benefits Commencement email sent to you in the month of your Benefits start date. Your username is required to set your password using the “Reset Password” feature on the PSBT.ca sign-in page. 

If you cannot remember your username or password, use the “Forgot your username” and/or “Reset your Password” links on the sign-in page to retrieve them.  

Note that username retrieval and password reset emails will be sent to the email address you submitted in your application (often, this is a personal email address).

Where do I get information about dependents and beneficiaries?

When do my benefits start?

In general, we require a two-month accumulation of funds, collected from payroll deductions, to commence benefits the first of the next month. To learn more, click here.

How do I get a benefits booklet?

You can find all forms and booklets, including benefits booklets for Ontario and British Columbia, at this link. Please note that we do not print paper copies of the booklets.

Who do I call with questions about my submitted Claim?

Claims inquires: 1-800-957-9777

You can check the status of your claims, see your claims history, and more through the GROUPNET online portal. Access the online portal by clicking here to register, then log into your member account.

If you do not have access to the internet or if you need further assistance, you may call GROUPNET: Canada Life directly at English: 1-866-289-5675 / French: 1-866-814-6503.

I need to provide the pharmacy with drug account numbers, where can I find these numbers?

Our insurance carrier provides an on-line member service called GROUPNET. Members can access account information by first registering and then logging into their member account. Once logged in you can print a card. Click here to access the GROUPNET web portal.

How do I pay for my benefits?

The Power Sector Benefit Trust Program is set up as a bill payment payee at participating Financial Institutions across Canada.

This service allows PSBT members to pay their monthly premiums via several banking channels, including Telephone Banking, Online Banking and paperless ABM payments.

Look up "PSBT" or "Power Sector Benefit Trust" in your online banking or banking app payee list and enter your Username as your Customer/Account Number (e.g., lastname1).
