The Canadian Union of Skilled Workers and the Power Workers’ Union have established the Ashton Tuck Special Assistance Fund through the Member and Family Assistance Program (MFAP) to carry on Ashton’s work of assisting members in extreme hardship.

If you are a PSBT Member who is experiencing extreme financial hardship from circumstances beyond your control —and have exhausted all other financial means, you can apply for assistance from the Ashton Tuck Fund.

The Process

Members who cannot access other assistance can apply for assistance themselves, or with the help of a representative, by providing a written request that outlines the specific circumstance and the assistance being requested. The committee reviews the request and assists members based on the hardship and the requested aid. The committee maintains the confidentiality of all members making a request.

The committee members include Tyler Jennings and Hank Bakker from the Canadian Union of Skilled Workers and Gary Lemelin from the Power Workers’ Union. The committee reviews the individual requests and offers assistance on behalf of the Member and Family Assistance Program.

Any communication with the Member and Family Assistance Program is 100% CONFIDENTIAL
